Meet Bebe!
Mark is an 8 year old domestic shorthair hailing from Georgia. We first saw his photo on a rescue plea from one of our partner shelters. It was love at first sight. He was scruffy, dirty, and sickly, but there was just something about him. And boy, isn't that an understatement!Mark is one of the most affectionate cats you will ever have the pleasure to meet. He instantly connects with everyone, and is very forward with his affections-- headbutting, nuzzling, climbing and kissing to show his love. He loves to be pet anywhere and everywhere, enjoys being held, and will find a comfy spot on anyone's lap. Mark even loves dogs and other cats.
The only catch is that Mark requires special medical care. He has chronic congestion and elevated thyroid levels. These occasionally also lead to Mark's mouth becoming inflamed, causing some swelling and drooling. After several vet and specialist visits, we have determined this to be Mark's "normal".
If anything, this makes him more endearing. Despite his hardships, Mark is still one of the most loving animals to come through Defenders' doors. We are invested in Mark's care and will support his adopter in this regard.
