Meet Bernadette!
Bernadette, or Bernie, as we like to call her, came to us from another shelter that found her in horrible condition. If you're interested in her history, ask to see her before pictures. We spent a lot of time getting her the best vet care to get her feeling like herself again! This included intensive baths, various different medications, and topical treatments. She's currently on prescription food and medication to help combat her skin issues. We are determined to see her challenges through, even post-adoption.
Bernie has had a long struggle to get to where she is, but she doesn't let her past get her down. She is truly just a puppy stuck in a big dog's body. She is one of the sweetest, most dorkiest dogs you'll ever meet. This big baby loves to sit in your lap despite her size, and will lean herself into you when she wants attention. This older gal even knows some tricks-- her favorite to do is "paw"!
She seems to be selective with other dogs, but we're unsure if she would be able to live with one due to not knowing her past or potential triggers. She loves all humans, but due to her size (and lack of awareness of her size) she would be best suited for families with older children.
