Meet Dasani!
Dasani was found living in a set of cages with her five puppies in the bed of a truck, covered by a tarp in the height of Georgia summer. Can you imagine how fearful and uncomfortable it must have been? Despite her unsavory conditions, she was friendly and affectionate when meeting shelter staff. She shows us every day that she remains loving, playful, and goofy even after a rough patch of her life.
This beautiful pittie is a total goofball. She acts much like a puppy herself, and her silly antics always have us laughing. Running around and wrestling are some of her favorite activities. Despite her propensity to roughhousing, she actually walks amazingly on leash. Incredibly easy paced and rarely ever pulls.
She seems to be dog selective, preferring male over female companions. She also seems to be selective about the people she likes. We chalk this up to her upsetting past, and not knowing the people who abused her and her puppies. This is totally understandable. Everyone who would have contact with Dasani if adopted should be present during any meet-and-greet to ensure everyone's comfort. But honestly? A gentle hand, and a little patience, and Dasani is sure to open up to you. One of the most heartwarming, rewarding moments is when a restrained dog finally opens up to you and lets you in to their heart.
