Make a Difference with Defenders!

Looking to get involved with animal rescue? There are so many ways you can share your time and skills to help better the lives of needy animals. Volunteers must be 18 years or older and complete a brief interview with our Outreach Coordinator. Volunteer Opportunities

Animal Care
If you're the type of person that likes hands on work, look no further! While our paid staff handles the care of our adoptable animals, we have both small animals and barn animals that need daily cleaning and feeding.
Shelter Maitenence
  • We always need help with general day-to-day tasks around the shelter! This includes unloading and processing donations, straightening up public areas, cleaning and folding laundry, etc.
Yard Work
Being on a wide patch of land means that there's a whole lot of yard to take care of. Volunteers can help maintain our outdoor space by raking leaves, trimming greenery, and picking up trash and debris around the building.
